Summary

JSON comments are a non-standard feature which was erroneously supported in these features. Syntax such as {/* foo */ "a": 42} is not accepted by other user agents.

Motivation

JSON comments are not a standard part of ECMA-404, and for interop reasons we shouldn't accept them by accident.
